Welcome to the first of our blogs from the honcho marketing team.
A quick intro: I’m Graeme, and I’m our chief digital honcho, responsible for all things marketing, brand and digital.
In this blog I wanted to share a little about how we’re preparing to launch honcho. As you can imagine there’s a stack of technical work going on in the background, and while our product and technology teams get all of our very cool tech ready for launch it my team’s job to get our marketing, advertising and PR ready and to have a campaign plan ready to go as soon as we push button.
For launch we are focusing specifically on the 17-24 year old age group, and to make sure we reach as much of this demographic as possible across the UK we’re planning to focus on using social media as our primary marketing channel. We’re working with a specialist social media marketing agency called Social Chain. If you’ve not heard of them you really should check them out – www.socialchain.com.
Only a few years old, Social Chain have become a hugely powerful force in marketing with brands like Superdry, Asos and Boohoo entrusting their social marketing to the agency. We are really excited to be working with them!
In this pre-launch phase we’re deep in campaign planning mode. This is where we look at all of the different channels that we want to use, for example Facebook and Instagram, and work out what we want to do when, what creative assets we will need, what we think the impact of each part of our marketing will be etc., to give us an overall plan that gets us launched in the way that we intend and gets honcho as a new brand in front of as many people within our target market as we can. There’s a load of number-crunching, data and spreadsheets in here but there’s also some really exciting creative work. We are so excited about our creative plans and I wish I could share them with you today! However, you’re going to have to wait for now, but you’ll definitely want to keep an eye out..
