Our Chief Product Honcho Tom Spence has been hailed by Insurance Post as one of the Founders of the Future.

In a wide-ranging profile piece, Tom was asked a varied set of questions about career to date, what it’s like working at Honcho, and even who would play him in a film!

“Tom Hardy,” was the response, “because he could accurately reflect the beard and hair style I encountered during lockdown.” We can confirm this to be true…

Tom joined Honcho three years ago from a career in the banking and energy sectors, but the lure of startup life with the potential to really shake up a market was too much to resist. “I love working with a great bunch of people where decisions are made quickly and decisively – I mean within minutes not months,” he says, adding that startup life is “… very different to working in a big blue chip organisation and so the most rewarding thing for me is being able to see the fruits of our efforts benefitting our customers very quickly.”

Asked about the culture here at Honcho, Tom described our business as being built on “… teamwork, honesty, transparency, fairness and innovation (plus plenty of games consoles, rubbish dance music radio shows and the obligatory start-up bean bags).” Also accurate!
